Lighthouse Arts & Training
Guiding Lights is run by Lighthouse. Lighthouse provides creative and professional development opportunities for filmmakers, screenwriters, animators and artists working with the moving image and digital technology. We offer a wide range of initiatives including commissions, production schemes, training courses, bursaries, masterclasses and networking events, as well as running innovative education and outreach projects.
Picturehouse
Picturehouse cinemas are run by City Screen, formed in 1989 to challenge the multiplex cinema model. Independent ‘arthouse’ films have always been the core of the Company’s profile but each cinema is programmed to respond to its local audience and most cinemas have at least some mainstream blockbusters in the mix.
Skillset
Skillset is the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for Creative Media which comprises tv, film, radio, interactive media, animation, computer games, facilities, photo imaging and publishing. Jointly funded by industry and government, our job is to help the UK creative media industries have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time, so that our industries remain competitive.
ICA
The ICA is two cinemas, two galleries, a theatre and a bar and is the home to new culture and new ideas. It is also the home of cutting-edge independent and world cinema with its distribution arm, ICA Films, presenting a diverse and challenging programme of film specifically championing home-grown talent and uncovering gems from around the globe.
Optimum Releasing
Since its inception in 1999, Optimum Releasing has steadfastly adhered to one mantra: supporting filmmakers with a vision, and bringing these visions to the widest audience possible. The company - a UK-based, all rights company servicing the release of feature films across Theatrical, Video, Television and Online media - has acquired a reputation for a dynamic, marketing-orientated approach to distribution; while the formation of Optimum Home Entertainment in 2004 has seen the company move into the DVD and video market, releasing over 60 titles in its first year of operation alone.
