ABOUT GUIDING LIGHTS

Guiding Lights is a year-long mentoring scheme designed to support and develop emerging UK-based film industry talent. Following two successful rounds of the scheme, Guiding Lights 10/11 is now open for applications.

25 filmmakers will each be matched with a well-established and successful film professional.

Over the twelve months of the scheme, each participant will develop a one-on-one relationship with their mentor as well as taking part in a number of high-level industry training and networking events delivered as part of the Guiding Lights programme. Where possible, mentees will also undertake a short period of work shadowing.

  We are seeking applications from
talented and ambitious
filmmakers across all sections of
the community and from a range
of film industry disciplines. The
scheme is open to directors,
producers, screenwriters,
cinematographers and
professionals working in sales,
distribution, exhibition, marketing,
publicity and business affairs.

Applicants must have at least
two years professional
experience, a strong track record
and be committed to an ongoing
career in fiction feature films.
Please see the guidelines for
more information on the eligibility
criteria.

Guiding Lights aims to help
improve diversity within UK film
industry by addressing the issues
of access which individuals often
face when progressing their
careers.

Participants are provided with
financial assistance towards pre-
agreed travel, subsistence and
childcare costs. We are able to
facilitate access for deaf and
disabled people.

Please read the Guidelines and
the FAQs before making an
